Visit my main site, where I have a permanent place for my tools including MailPod: Link
Here's a little AppleScript app I wrote to copy emails from Apple Mail into an iPod as notes, so you can carry them around and read them on your iPod. I wrote the tool cuz...
1) Mail is a great tool for storing notes (by sending yourself an email). The next natural progression is to carry them around on my iPod.
2) I have emails from friends with directions, phone numbers, meeting schedule, and other handy information. Naturally, I want them handy without needing to carry around my Mac.
3. There is a shareware called "MailToPod" in the wild, but it hasn't been maintained. I believe my freeware implementation is good enough for most people's needs.
Update:
1. MailPod was mentioned on a tuaw.com article and on a Hawk Wings article. Pretty cool!
2. Also thanks to versiontracker.com and macupdate.com, the tool received significant amount of downloads. Thanks for all your downloads!
3. I knew I was forgetting something. I forgot to take care of softpedia.com. The funny thing is, they must have heard about MailPod through some other site, and listed it themselves. Even funnier, they claim that they *tested* the tool and gave it a "100% CLEAN" award. I am not familiar with this award, but they granted me a badget to show off on the site.
